Marvel Studios announced late Friday that Eternals will be released on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar on January 12, 2022.
The latest Marvel film, which will be surpassed by Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will be released on December 16 in India, will arrive 69 days after its global theatre premiere on November 5 in India, the United States, and other countries. That’s two days less than the 71-day window Disney set for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the previous Marvel film. Eternals will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, precisely as it was in theaters.

IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, like on IMAX screens, has a 1.90:1 aspect ratio, which means certain sequences have a 26 percent larger picture. (IMAX Enhanced is available for the first time on Disney+.) Sony had already included IMAX Enhanced in Bravia Core for a limited number of 4K Bravia TVs.) Eternals is about the titular immortal beings that have been living quietly on Earth for almost 7,000 years. It was co-written and directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. The Eternals must band together to defend the planet as their evil counterparts, the Deviants, resurface.
