When it was announced that Tim Burton would be making a Netflix show about Wednesday Addams, his many fans were excited to see what he would do with the character. What they got was even better than they could have hoped for I thought.
Wednesday tells a different story, where the family relationship isn’t explored, but Merlina is the main character and grows up to be a teenager. After attacking her classmates by putting piranhas in the pool even though she did it to protect her brother, she is sent to a boarding school for rejected children, which in this case is about mermaids, werewolves, witches, and more.
Merlina, who is played by Jenna Ortega, starts having strange visions and quickly finds out that something strange is going on at school and in the nearby town. This makes her want to find out more about a monster, a mysterious secret club, the town’s founder, and the murder case his father is accused of.
As Tim Burton’s series goes on, we learn that there’s a whole conspiracy going on, that Wednesday isn’t the only one in trouble, and that Nevermore Academy has more secrets than we thought, which makes us think there might be a second season.
When will be Wednesday season 2 released?
Netflix has already said that there will be Wednesday season 2, but there is no date set yet. We do know that the story could lead Wednesday back to the Academy, where he will see his old classmates and probably face more dangers.
The people in charge of the show said: “It’s been amazing to make a series that people from all over the world can relate to. We can’t wait to continue Merlina’s winding journey in season two, and we want to dive into another season to learn more about the strange and scary world of Nevermore. Just check to see if Merlina has ever drained the pool.”
Wednesday season 2 trailer
There is no trailer, but the end of Season 1 gives a lot of hints about what might happen in Season 2.
What is Wednesday season 2 about
Obviously, a second season of Nevermore Academy would continue Wednesday’s story, but it will have to do so without its principal, who was killed or maybe not.
Also, it’s not clear what will happen to Tyler Galpin, who was being manipulated by the character played by Christina Ricci who wanted to use him to take down all the students at Nevermore. At the end, Tyler is seen turning back into a monster while being taken in a fairing to what we assume is a prison. It’s not clear what will happen to him now or if he will be allowed to go to Nevermore to learn how to control his hyde.
Bianca Barclay, who has a meeting with her mother, is also a problem. Bianca tells her mother that her cult wants her back because her siren song is running out and she needs her to keep the cult going. She also tells her mother that the cult has been recruiting people from the town for some reason.

Wednesday needs to learn how to control her visions, and she may also want to find out what happened to Rowan and why her things were left in a bathroom by the principal, though we don’t know if it was her and not another person who can change form. Enid Sinclair can now fully change into a wolf, and we have to see what happens to her now.
Wednesday season 2 cast
Jenna Ortega will definitely come back as Wednesday. Isaac Ordonez will play Pugsley, and Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán will play Wednesday’s parents.
Also, we’ll probably see Enid Sinclair, Bianca, and Xavier Thorne again. However, a new season opens up the possibility of new characters, like Merlina’s grandmother, who appears in the movies, a new headmistress, and new students, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
