Aquaman 2 fans are waiting to watch the movie, we know. Aquaman was one of the movies that proved that DC was done trying to be like Marvel and was ready to make its own movie universe.

To do this, they had to change the character in every way. Aquaman wasn’t the most popular or coolest comic character, but DC decided to change that by making the king of the sea into a powerful warrior. That’s how Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa joined the project and became the main character of one of the year’s most popular movies.

In the first part, we learn that Arthur was not human. Instead, he was the son of the queen of the sea, and he had special powers like being able to control water and talk to animals. However, by living on Earth, he made his kingdom weak and cruel. He wanted to take his place on the throne, which he would use to start a war with the humans that would cause a lot of damage. To stop this from happening, Arthur had to go deep into the ocean to find an old trident that would give him power.

Warners decided to give Jason Momoa another adventure after his first one made $1.15 billion around the world and became one of DC’s most successful movies ever.

The project is just getting started, but it is known that The Conjuring’s director, James Wan, will be in charge. Wan said that this new horror movie could have a few interesting parts (this is a similar move to that of Marvel with the sequel to Doctor Strange , which will be horror). Also, the writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be back for the sequel.

When will the Aquaman 2 be Released?

Warner Bros. has confirmed that the sequel will come out in theaters 4 years after the first one. It will be one of the DC premieres in 2022. (in December). Aquaman 2 production was supposed to start in 2020, but they haven’t been able to get back to the set yet.

Soon, we’ll get to see Aquaman 2 in the first showing of the Snyder Cut on HBO MAX.

Aquaman 2 cast

Jason Momoa will be back as Aquaman in the second movie, and Patrick Wilson will also be back as Orm. Wilson said he has already been “slightly briefed” on what’s next for the former King of Atlantis. “I can tell you that even [Wan’s] ideas for Aquaman 2 are pushing him further,” he said.

Black Manta has also been confirmed as the main bad guy in the sequel, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has said, “Black Manta will return and hopefully cause a lot more trouble than he did in the first one.”

Mera (Amber Heard), Vulko (Willem Dafoe), Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), and Nereus (Dolph Lundgren) could also show up, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Will Amber Heard be eliminated?

Screen Rant says that Amber Heard could be cut from the whole sequel, and her role as Mera could be given to a different actress.

The media says that a report from Just Jared proves that Warner Bros. is thinking about removing all the scenes that the actress has already recorded, but for now, it is not confirmed or known who could take her place.

The actress said she was released from her contract, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be in the movie.

What’s the plot of Aquaman 2?

There isn’t an official plot summary yet, but Jason Momoa said this about his character: “He was born with the powers, but he never mastered them. Obviously, [the first movie] tells the whole story of how he came to be. We saw about two minutes of his old life in Justice League, so we know where he came from. I think when he was a kid, he had these powers but didn’t really know how to use them well, so I think this whole journey of him will make him the king. By the end of this movie, you’ll see him become what he’s supposed to be.

At the end of the first movie, Aquaman is left with the throne of Atlantis. The second movie could be about his first days as king, when he has to learn how to use his powers to their full potential.

“We’re not going to adapt any specific comic book story,” Johnson-McGoldrick told a fan on Twitter. “But if you want to know the vibe we’re going for, pick almost any Silver Age story with Black Manta.”
