Mercedes-Benz will unveil the 2022 Maybach S-Class in India on March 3. Last year, Mercedes-Benz released the domestically produced S-Class in India at a price of Rs 1.57 crore. The new Maybach S-Class will be the German automaker’s flagship model in India.
In India, the S-Class will join the luxury SUV GLS 600 in the Mercedes Maybach portfolio. In June of last year, Mercedes released the Maybach GLS 600 in India at a price of Rs.2.43 crore.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, dubbed “the best car in the world” by many, was previously available only through import in June of last year for Rs. 2.17 crore. Only 150 units had been brought in at the time, but with local production, the business anticipates a larger demand base.
The Maybach S-Class is already available in select regions throughout the world. It was introduced last year with V8 and V12 engines, and it intends to compete in the premium sedan sector with Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
For European buyers, the Mercedes Maybach S-Class will be available with two engines: a V8 and a V12. The V12 engine in the S 680 4MATIC is combined for the first time with the all-wheel drive 4MATIC system. The engine produces 612 horsepower and allows the car to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The S 580’s four-litre V8 eight-cylinder petrol engine produces 503 horsepower and accelerates from zero to ten kilometers per hour in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille, as well as the trademark vertical and three-dimensional trim strips, are featured on the Maybach S-Class. A fixed quarter light with an exclusive Maybach brand insignia is also installed in the C-pillar.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features electrically actuated comfort rear doors, which is a first in the industry. It also comes with reclining chairs with massaging functions, leg rests and foldable tables in the back, automatic seat belt reminders for rear seat passengers, and much more.
The dashboard, center console, and armrests are all one seamless element, giving the impression of floating. Inside, there are up to five different display screens to choose from. A 12.3-inch 3D driver display with three-dimensional representation of other road users and significant depth and shadow effects is offered as an option, in addition to the basic 12-inch OLED center display.
