Nic Kerdiles, a former hockey player who was once engaged to “Chrisley Knows Best” star Savannah Chrisley, passed away early on Saturday in a motorcycle accident, according to officials.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a motorbike rider named Kerdiles, 29, passed away after colliding with an SUV.

The department issued a statement to Nashville-based NBC News affiliate WSMV that read, “The preliminary investigation shows that Kerdiles was driving his Indian Motorcycle west on Wheless Street when he proceeded through the stop sign and struck the driver’s side of the BMW.”

Police reported that Kerdiles was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where doctors declared him dead on Saturday.

The BMW driver stopped, and neither driver displayed any signs of intoxication. The department stated that no charges were anticipated.

A helmeted rider was posing on an Indian motorcycle hours prior to the collision, and Kerdiles uploaded the image on Instagram with the description “Night rider.”

2012 saw the Anaheim Ducks select Kerdiles in the National Hockey League entry draft. On Saturday, the group paid tribute to him.
