Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift are among Forbes’ top 100 most powerful women in the world for 2021.
Forbes issued its annual list on Tuesday, December 7th, honoring a total of 15 women in the media and entertainment industries.
Rihanna, who was just awarded National Hero of Barbados, was ranked No. 68 on the list.
The popularity of her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line has also made the “Diamonds” singer a billionaire, according to Forbes.
The beauty company, which is co-owned by LVMH, made about $550 million (roughly £415 million) in revenue in 2020.
Beyoncé, the singer of “Single Ladies,” was ranked 76th on Forbes’ list. According to Forbes, the former Destiny’s Child singer earned a total of $250 million (roughly £189 million) during her On The Run II stadium tour with billionaire husband Jay Z.
In 2019, the multi-hyphenate also announced a global partnership between Ivy Park, her athleisure clothing line, and Adidas.
Last Monday, she teased the first glimpse of their fifth collaboration, Halls of Ivy, on Instagram.
Reese Witherspoon’s son Deacon Phillipe and daughter Ava Phillipe, as well as the late Kobe Bryant’s daughter Natalia, star in the campaign.
Swift, who is ranked 78th, has broken numerous music records this year.
Her album Folklore, released in 2020, became the first to sell one million copies in the pandemic year.
Red (Taylor’s Version), a compilation of re-released music, became the singer’s 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
Furthermore, “All Too Well,” a 10-minute song from the revamped Red, became the longest song to ever hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 US chart.
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey’s estimated total net worth of $2.6 billion (£1.7 billion) propelled her to No. 23 on Forbes’ list, as the philanthropist, talk show presenter, and media tycoon was named the most powerful woman in media and entertainment this year.
After her women-focused video firm Hello Sunshine was acquired in August this year for an estimated value of $900 million (£679 million), actress Reese Witherspoon was ranked No. 74.
With an estimated net worth of $59.2 billion (roughly £44.6 billion) and a 25% stake in Amazon, author, philanthropist, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’s former wife, MacKenzie Scott, took the top slot.
