Young aerospace engineer, Akhil Turai, is focusing a lot of his career on sparking interest in space sciences specifically in the younger generations by developing a company called Space Science LLC. The Space Science LLC platform was recently opened to the public. It features an ever-growing list of educational activities that are designed to attempt to inspire an interest in space that is tangible for the users.

Akhil Turai wants to create interactive and relaxing tactics to get everyone concerned about space science. There are a lot of great reasons why we should inspire the younger generations to get interested in space sciences. Below are 5 of those important reasons!

1. Asteroids Have No Control

Space science can not only save a few lives, but it has to potential to literally save every single life on earth. While the galaxy we reside in has entered a very relaxed state since its early stages, there are still asteroids out there that could potentially hit the earth. This has occurred in the past and each time it occurred it caused mass extinction. Building the best science for asteroid protection is something that cannot be overlooked.

2. Colonization is Earth’s Plan B

There are over 7 billion people on earth, and while the earth is a big place, we are filling it up pretty quickly. Earth will also not be around forever, per the asteroid issue, among other things. By colonizing other planets in our solar system as a backup, humanity could outlive a big bang-like disaster.

3. Space Mining Can Save Everyone

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are unitizing a lot of our resources here on earth. Eventually, we will run out. Extracting minerals from space can improve our ability to study and grow our experiments and theories here on earth.

4. New Technologies

Humans are obviously not built to go into space, but we decided to head out there anyway. And without space programs and space studies, we wouldn’t have technologies such as weather prediction, GPS, and ultraviolet filters. There are also some studies going on right now that could potentially cure diseases and even elongate the life span of humans. Exploring space and space studies can save lives.

5. Humans Want to Explore and Discover

The above reasons are more practical black and white ones as to why this should be a major focus of study, but a loftier reason is that humans are naturally explorers. We are inherently always looking for what is out there. Exploring space gives us the ultimate ability to be true explorers and potentially discover other life forms and resources.
