According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the statewide launch of satellite internet provider Starlink will begin later this month.
Musk made the comment after earlier stating that Starlink will be released from beta in October. On Thursday, a Twitter user inquired about the implications for American consumers, particularly those in the south. “Since the Starlink beta is concluding this month, will we see more rollouts in the southern states (Louisiana, Texas, etc.)?” the user wondered.
“Should be nationwide rollout by end of month,” Musk said on Twitter. Note that the number of users in the same location is still limited. As additional satellites are launched, this will improve.”
According to the announcement, SpaceX is prepared to send out more Starlink terminals to users across the United States. If you reside in a region where there are already a lot of Starlink subscribers, you’ll have to wait until the business can launch more satellites into orbit to expand the network. Starlink presently has over 100,000 users all around the world.
The main question is how SpaceX determines what constitutes “nationwide.” Most states in the United States are already served by Starlink. However, data from Ookla, the company behind Speedtest, shows that Starlink’s coverage still has significant gaps.

Starlink is available for pre-order for $99 on the company’s official website. However, Starlink already has a big backlog of over 500,000 users who have signed up to try it out. SpaceX is planning to increase production of the Starlink dish terminal with a new, easier-to-manufacture variant in order to attract more clients. These new dishes will be available later this year.
