Thailand began quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated travelers from all nations and regions on Tuesday, marking the country’s latest step toward reviving the tourism sector and economic recovery.
Inbound tourists from all countries and areas are eligible for quarantine-free entrance if they have been completely vaccinated and take RT-PCR tests on their first and fifth days in Thailand.
According to government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, the wider reopening, which was previously restricted to more than 60 countries and regions designated as low-risk, is expected to bring in up to 300,000 travelers into Thailand in February, with the number likely to rise further in March.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the number of international tourist visits in the country fell to 427,869 in 2021, with more than three quarters of the total arriving in November and December.
