In a recent research note, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Cupertino-based tech company may release its first foldable iPhone in 2024, rather than 2023 as previously stated.

“Due to slower-than-expected development progress, we’ve reduced our forecast for the iPhone with under-display fingerprint and the foldable iPhone to 2H23 and 2024, respectively. We feel that this will have a negative impact on iPhone shipments in 2022 and 2023 “Kuo was quoted by iMore as saying.

According to Business Korea, Apple and LG are working on a foldable OLED display that will be 7.5 inches in size and will employ etching to reduce thickness.

Apple’s first foldable smartphone, according to the site, will sport a clamshell design.

Apple has been exploring foldable smartphones since 2016, according to Kuo, but rumors of a foldable iPhone have significantly intensified in recent months.

The next foldable iPhone, which will have a design similar to the Galaxy Z Flip, will also be less expensive than its competitors in the same market.

Apple is apparently working on an iPhone with a folding display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, and has placed an order with Samsung for a batch of foldable displays, indicating that it is working on a foldable iPhone.

According to a source, Apple may possibly drop the iPad Mini after the release of its foldable iPhones.
