Turkey’s tourism authorities launched an early booking campaign for the 2022 tourism season on Friday, promising “attractive and inexpensive prices.”
The statement was made at a tourism conference held in Turkey’s Mediterranean Antalya province by the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB).
At the congress, TURSAB’s president, Firuz Baglikaya, stated that the campaign would be applicable to a wide spectrum of tourism forms, not just sea-sand-sun tourism, which has long been the main type of tourism in Turkey.
According to Mert Vardar, CEO of Jolly Tour, the campaign will boost Turkey’s home market greatly, as the hopes for recruiting international tourists in 2022 are considerably larger than they are this year.
The early reservation had fallen out of favor during the pandemic for two years, according to Kaan Karayal, CEO of Tatilsepeti.com, an online booking company, but it has recently resurfaced.
According to industry sources, the discounted rates will finish towards the start of the next tourism season. Turkey’s tourism season typically begins in May and lasts until the conclusion of the summer months.
According to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, the number of international tourists to Turkey in the first nine months of this year increased by 86% over the same period last year, reaching 17.6 million.
Turkey’s tourist earnings reached a new high of 34.5 billion US dollars in 2019, thanks to the arrival of almost 45 million foreign visitors. However, due to travel limitations, tourism fell by more than 65 percent in 2020, but regained in 2021, thanks to a rise in COVID-19 vaccination around the world.
