To check if your iPhone’s Bluetooth is turned on, go to the settings app and select Bluetooth. If it’s turned on, the oval next to Bluetooth will become green, and “My Devices” and “Other Devices” will appear underneath Bluetooth. Tap the circle in the oval next to Bluetooth to turn it on. Depending on the device you’re using, this step may differ.

Within hearing distance of your Amazon Echo, say “Alexa, pair” or “Alexa, Bluetooth on.” YourEcho will now be in pairing mode. A flashing blue light will illuminate, and the device will display in your phone’s Bluetooth menu under “Other Devices.”

On your iPhone, go to “Other Devices” and tap Echo to connect.

Your Echo will become a Bluetooth speaker once it is connected. “Alexa, unplug from my phone,” says the user.

It should be easier to use your Echo as a Bluetooth speaker once you’ve paired your phone once. Simply say “Alexa, connect to my phone” whenever you want to connect your phone to your Echo.
