From a medical point of view, it means trouble. How to improve memory has a lot to do with how healthy we are and how we lived when we were young.

People can be scared and even scared to death by the early onset of Alzheimer’s or a sudden case of amnesia. But it’s never too late to learn how to improve your memory, says Harvard University, which suggests some very practical, non-general, and specific ways to do so.

Harvard University’s medical blog says that before you can figure out how to improve your memory, you need to know what causes memory loss. These include genes, bad lifestyle choices, lack of sleep, extreme fatigue, head injuries, and trauma.

They also say that people of all ages and from all over the world are afraid of losing their memories. Also, memories are not stored in one part of the brain. Instead, they are made up of different senses, such as touch, smell, and sight.

Then, these parts are sent to the cerebral cortex, which is the brain’s outer layer.

Harvard says this is how to improve your memory:

1. Eat Foods that Enhance Memory

No matter what you wear or how many hours you spend meditating, nothing will work if your eating habits are a mess.

Harvard suggests eating leafy green vegetables, nuts, berries, tea, coffee, and oily fish if you want to improve your memory. These foods are good for your health as a whole, so they also help improve your memory.

2. Mixed Exercises

It’s all about how the blood moves. Nothing will work if you eat all the nuts and green leafy vegetables in the world and don’t move an inch. There are many ways to improve your memory.

The best way to improve memory is to do a mix of aerobic (cardio) and strength exercises. This is because both types of exercises help make neurotransmitters, which are important for memory.

3. Keep on Learning

If you don’t use your brain often, it gets rusty, just like a bike that’s been sitting in a garage for years and has built up a lot of dust and rust.

Puzzles, active learning, travel, and learning to play a new instrument or speak a new language are all things that keep the brain active.

4. Stay Organised

You don’t know where you put your eyes because your house doesn’t have a place for keys. Can’t find the cord for your laptop?

Did you find your glasses one day in a bedside cabin and the next day in the bathroom? Your wallet is in the kitchen, and it might even be in the fridge. It’s not strange that you forget things.

It’s helpful to stay organized, give things their own places, make to-do lists, get rid of physical clutter, and give your life some structure.

5. Keep a Tab on your Health

Most of the time, memory loss is caused by something else. Depression and trauma that haven’t been dealt with can often cause a lot of memory loss. Get it checked out, get a diagnosis, and work on getting better.

Check your hearing, vision, blood pressure, thyroid function, and cholesterol levels, all of which can cause memory loss.

Often, the cause of your sudden memory loss is something as simple as an increased heart rate that could have been fixed with a few simple changes to your lifestyle.
