In the sequel to Knives Out, Glass Onion, the detective is back with a new case. This time, he doesn’t have to get the members of a wealthy family with a lot of secrets to talk. Instead, he goes to the Greek islands to solve a crime involving an odd millionaire and the guests in his mansion.
The first movie had a great cast, including Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, and more. Rian Johnson always wanted to continue the story in a bigger, crazier, and funnier way, so he put together a great cast for the sequel, which he called Glass Onion after a Beatles song or maybe after the glass bottles used to store wine on ships.
Craig and other actors like Edward Norton and Dave Bautista who is also getting ready for the release of the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The new M. Night Shyamalan movie all play important roles in this mystery, where nothing is what it seems and anyone could be the murderer.
To get a feel for this story of murder, mystery, and mind games, you need to know who the main characters are which arrives on Netflix on December 23. Through November 29, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is showing at a few cinemas. The movie has a PG-13 rating due to the language, some violence, sexual content, and drug use. Glass Onion Review
Either you can let the journey take you and not try to “solve” whatever crime may or may not have been committed. The humorous performances by Craig, Norton, Monae, and Hudson are particularly strong. I could spend hours watching these individuals, and, in all honesty, the movie could have utilized another hour to get a more satisfactory finish. We should probably simply be thankful that we get as much as we do, similar to the movie’s theatrical release window.
Glass Onion and the actors and characters explained:
Daniel Craig is Benoit BlancÂ
Benoit Blanc is a private detective who we already know from the first movie. He is hired to try to solve hard cases that the police can’t. Blanc locks himself and the suspects in the crime scene. He then uses all of his deduction skills to follow the clues and question the suspects to catch the criminal in a lie and find out the truth.
Edward Norton isMiles BronÂ
Norton from movies like Fight Club and Primal Fear is kind of like Elon Musk in this story. He is an oddball millionaire who started a tech company with Janelle Monáe’s character, which made him billions of dollars. Bron seems to be the one who sends the other characters to Greece to try to get away from COVID.
Kathryn Hahn isClaire DebellaÂ
Hahn is working on the Agatha Harkness series for Disney. She plays Claire, the governor of Connecticut, who leaves her people and family to go to Greece in the middle of a pandemic because Miles invited her to spend a few days at sea and away from her responsibilities.
Kate Hudson isBirdie JayÂ
Birdie, who is played by the main character in movies like Almost Famous and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, is a model and entrepreneur who makes her own sportswear brand. She gives her manager a lot of trouble because she does things that can be offensive and controversial, especially what she says on social media.
Dave Bautista is Duke CodyÂ
The actor who plays Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy also plays a loud, flamboyant, gun-crazy influencer. He goes out with Whiskey, who is also a guest and is played by Madelyn Cline. When he is invited to Greece, he takes Whiskey with him, which makes the other guests upset.
Janelle Monae is Andi BrandÂ
Andi Brand is the “adventure” partner of the character played by Edward Norton, or at least the co-founder of the tech company that made them both millionaires. It’s clear that the two of them have an odd relationship, and unlike the others, she shows up on the island without being asked and after being away for years.
Jessica Henwick isPegÂ
Peg, who is played by the Love and Monsters actress, is in charge of watching Birdie and making sure she doesn’t post anything controversial on her social networks. She also has to go everywhere with Birdie, which is how she ends up going to Greece and staying in that mansion where everything happens.
